Marcus Veda
The Rocketman himself and my main squeeze.
Marcus’s teaching style is brash, funny and always explosive. His goal is to get us to the moon and his unique sense of humor, 4 beat vinyasa and an extensively researched practice gets us pretty damn close!
His initial training was in martial arts ad after a successful career as a dj he turned to the yogic path in pursuit of something more fulfilling (don’t we all!).
He’s under no illusion that he is a special snowflake, and he is especially good at making fun of himself with dry wit. People can find him overbearing, and a bit mad, but there’s a reason his classes are always packed to the rafters and have a long waiting list.
I’ve been practicing with Marcus since his very first class at Frame (which was half price so he could get students), and have completed my 250 Hr Foundation Teacher Training and am undertaking a further 100 Hours of Rocket this year.
Rocket yoga for those of you that don’t know is a break out of Ashtanga that “gets you there faster”. I’ll explain in another post but safe to say it’s very sweaty, and there’s lots of (supervised) handstand play.
Marcus also has a strong focus on the breath and breathwork. If anyone’s ever tried his Anandamaya Breath Workshops lucky you (my head floated off like a balloon the first time I did one). A feeling of absolute bliss and wellbeing ensues.
Not for the faint of heart but certainly worth a try. Marcus’s classes are often filled with a lot of Alpha types, many of whom have come straight from the dancefloor. If that sounds like a bit of you but you’re not sure you’re advanced enough give him a go on zoom, but keep your camera off ;)
